Watch: Garnacho rinses Man Utd keeper with cheeky Panenka penalty
Alejandro Garnacho is a star in the making and his cheeky Panenka penalty in Manchester United training shows just how confident he is right now.
The 18-year-old has made a name for himself this season and his potential is scary. The winger scored the winning goal against Fulham with a superbly taken finish.
He gives United a different sort of dynamic on the wing and is plenty of fun to watch. If he continues to develop at his current rate then anything is possible for the Argentine winger.
It’s fair to say that Rio Ferdinand is a fan, he told VIBE with Five: “I went and watched the Under-21s game the other day, got beat 2-0 by Monaco at Old Trafford, I was sat with John Murtough and Darren Fletcher talking about him.
“Fletch said what he loves about him is his arrogance, he’s got an arrogance about him which is just brilliant. There’s a certain type of arrogance you want in players and he has that.
“And it threw me back to a game I did for BT at Southampton and he was on the bench. In the warm-up before the match, we were on the pitch and you always get a little look and eye contact with players and normally they gave you a little wave or a wink or whatever.
“But my man [Garnacho] just looked me up and down like I was just any guy. He looked me up and down and then just jogged off. Either he has no history of the club, doesn’t care for it, or he’s looked at me and just thought, ‘Rio, you’re not on my level. I’m going way beyond anything you’ve ever done in the game’.
“Those were the vibes I got off him. I looked at myself like, “What’s happened to me?” But I don’t mind that. I love young players, I love seeing young players with a little bit about them. I love it.”
This season Garnacho has made eight first-team appearances for United, with three of those games coming in the Premier League. In those eight matches, he has produced four goal contributions with two goals and two assists.
Manchester United fans are well aware that they have a star in the making and his latest antics in training highlight just how much confidence he is currently playing with.
