How Sancho’s BVB record compares with the PL’s most expensive attackers

According to reports, Jadon Sancho is finally set to seal his long-awaited move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United in the coming weeks.

Sancho, who is controversially yet to feature for England at Euro 2020, would likely become United’s new record signing, as well as the Premier League’s most expensive player amid suggestions Dortmund are holding out for over £100million.

The young forward’s record with the German club is ridiculous, but would he be worth such a price? To put the potential move into context, we’ve taken a look at how his record compares to the most expensive attacking players in recent Premier League history – and their records for their last clubs before they arrived in English football.

The seven most expensive at the time of writing, bought from overseas, are Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Chelsea signings Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Alvaro Morata and Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria.

We’ve also included what they won before arriving, their ages at the time of the move, and the reported fee paid for their signatures.
