Football Manager 2024 is finally out. We’ve checked out Manchester United’s 12 wonderkids.
It goes without saying that United have a rich history when it comes to developing young players and their current crop of youngsters is incredibly exciting.
Thanks to FMScout, we’ve found the 12 Manchester United wonderkids that you should be on the lookout for.
Harry Amass
United managed to prize the 16-year-old defender away from Watford this summer and the club handed him a contract until 2027. Amass is in his early days at Old Trafford, but the early signs are promising.
The youngster currently plays in United’s youth academy and has an FM potential of 79 on the new game. He’s certainly worth keeping a close eye on over these next few years.
Hannibal Mejbri
Following a successful loan spell with Birmingham in the Championship, Hannibal has been handed more first-team opportunities by Erik ten Hag this year.
Given the midfielder’s tenacious style of play, he’s already becoming somewhat of a cult hero at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old has an FM potential of 81 and we can’t wait to see more of him in a United shirt.
Isak Hansen-Aaroen
The 19-year-old midfielder is yet to make his senior debut for United, but the early signs from the Norwegian youngster have been hugely promising. With an FM potential of 82, keep your eyes peeled for Hansen-Aaroen.

Kobbie Mainoo
The 18-year-old made his senior debut last season and grabbed plenty of headlines after some impressive showings in pre-season. Mainoo missed the start of the season through injury but is now close to a full recovery.
During pre-season, Mainoo looked like a natural next to the likes of Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes. With an FM potential of 83, it’s no wonder that so many people have tipped him to go to the very top.
“He is already training with us,” Ten Hag told reporters. “Not today but I think, next week, he will have some minutes in the team. So then he can catch up his game minutes. So he is really improving and ready to get back in the squad for games.”
Daniel Gore
Ten Hag handed Gore his senior debut this season in a Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace and United fans will be eager to see more of the 19-year-old in the coming months.
Capable of playing in an attacking or defensive role, Gore can make a difference at both ends of the pitch and with an FM potential of 83, he’s well worth picking up on the new game.
Finley McAllister
The Salford-born midfielder signed his first professional contract with the club this summer after impressing in their youth ranks. McAllister has captained the England Under-17s and looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
Jayce Fitzgerald
A fellow Salford-born midfielder, Fitzgerald is another emerging star to keep your eye on. The 16-year-old has spent his entire youth career at United and his next aim will be to break into the first team.
If you’re going to be playing FM24, Fitzgerald is certainly one player to keep tabs on. With an FM potential of 81, he could be a useful asset in the game.

Jack Fletcher
Son of former United midfielder Darren Fletcher, Jack will be hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps. Like his dad, he also plays in midfield and looks like a bright talent in his early years.
Best of all is the fact that United recently snatched him from Manchester City in the summer alongside his brother Tyler. He boasts an FM potential of 80 and can play as a holding or attacking midfielder.
Alejandro Garnacho
The Argentine winger has all the attributes to make it to the top. His natural ability and swagger sets him apart from plenty of other 19-year-olds and he’s already managed to make quite the impression in the first-team.
Since being promoted to the senior squad, Garnacho has had nine goal involvements and has already won the hearts of United fans from across the globe. With an FM potential of 85, he won’t come cheap on the new game.
“I think everyone likes him, the fans like him, the team like him, I like him, but also we have to demand him and we have to push him, because he can act on a very high level but he has to show it every day,” Ten Hag told reporters.
Amad Diallo
United saw the potential in Diallo from his early years with Atalanta and the club spent a reported €40million fee including bonuses to get him to join the club in 2021.
The club have had to be patient with the winger, but Diallo looks ready for the next stage of his career after a tremendous loan spell with Sunderland. While playing in the Championship he scored 13 goals and the majority of them were absolute beauties.
He’s missed the start of the 2023-24 campaign through injury, but we’re sure that he’ll be able to come back stronger than ever. On FM24, Diallo has a potential of 80.
Shea Lacey
One of the most naturally gifted academy products in the United ranks right now, Lacey has one hell of a future ahead of him if all goes to plan.
To contextualise how highly rated he is, Lacey boasts an FM potential of 90 which is higher than any other youngster in their squad. He glides past defenders for fun and has the end product to back it up.

Rasmus Hojlund
While Hojlund is still waiting to score his first Premier League goal, the early signs have been very promising for United’s new frontman. He’s already off the mark in the Champions League and his natural ability has already started to gleam through.
“He’s very hungry for scoring goals, but also in other facets of the game, in stages, he’s doing really well,” Ten Hag told MUTV. “You see him improving from game to game, so I’m really pleased with his performance.”
Hojlund was highly sought after in the summer and if he lives up to his potential, he will be worth every single penny that United paid. He boasts an FM potential of 88 which is one of the highest in the United squad.
