The 10 Premier League players with the most goals & assists in 2023-24: Salah, Haaland…

The Premier League is home to some of the best attacking players in the world and stars from Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal are among the players with the most goal contributions this season.

While some forwards bring more to the table than just goals and assists, it’s no secret that attacking players are mainly judged by the amount of goal contributions they can chip in with.

We’ve taken a closer look at the Premier League this season and have found the 10 players with the most goals and assists in 2023-24 so far.

Note: when players are tied on goal contributions, we have separated them based on their goal contribution per minute ratio. Anthony Gordon, Julian Alvarez and Dominic Solanke each have nine goal contributions, but miss out on the top 10 due to their inferior ratio.

10. Darwin Nunez – 9 (4 goals + 5 assists)

We can’t help but love the chaotic nature of Nunez. You never quite know what you’re going to get from the Uruguayan forward when he steps onto the pitch, but you can pretty much guarantee it’s going to be entertaining.

His highlight of the season was undoubtedly against Newcastle away as he was able to rescue all three points with an emphatic late brace. In total, Nunez has nine goal contributions with four goals and five assists to his name.

9. Leon Bailey – 9 (5 goals + 4 assists)

Aston Villa have enjoyed a meteoric rise under Unai Emery and Bailey is someone who has hugely benefited from the Spanish coach. The Jamaican winger has had to fight for his place in the starting XI and he is currently in fine form.

“[Unai Emery] has been amazing,” Bailey told Amazon Prime. “His way of doing things is different. He knows exactly what he wants. Day in and day out he knows what he’s doing to help us get the three points.”

8. Jarrod Bowen – 10 (9 goals + 1 assist)

Bowen has scored more than double the amount of any other West Ham during the 2023-24 campaign. The 26-year-old has already surpassed his goal tally from last season and doesn’t look like slowing down any time soon.

7. Bryan Mbeumo – 10 (7 goals + 3 assists)

Thanks to Mbeumo, Brentford have been able to live with Ivan Toney in the opening months of the season. While Toney serves his footballing suspension, Mbeumo has been the main man for Thomas Frank’s side.

The 24-year-old is only two goals away from matching his entire tally from last season and he is currently projected to score 17 goals come the end of the season, based on his current scoring figures.

6. Hwang Hee-chan – 10 (8 goals + 2 assists)

Wolves have struggled to find a consistent goalscorer in recent years, but the South Korean forward now looks to be the answer to their prayers.

Ruben Neves and Daniel Podence finished as Wolves’ joint-top scorers last season with just six goals each. Hwang has already smashed that tally and also has a couple of assists to show for it too.

5. Bukayo Saka – 11 (5 goals + 6 assists)

There’s no doubt that the Arsenal wideman currently ranks among the best players in the league. Along with being a deadly goal threat, Saka has also been one of the best creative outlets in the league.

Only James Maddison and Bruno Fernandes have produced more shot-creating actions than Saka has in the Premier League this season and the Arsenal man also has the end product to back it up.

4. Ollie Watkins – 14 (8 goals + 6 assists)

Watkins must be loving life under Emery right now. The 27-year-old is on track to have his most prolific Premier League season yet and his goal contributions have been crucial in Aston Villa’s lightning start to the season.

“Firstly, I told him that his goals were a consequence of his work every day,” Emery told TNT Sports. “His commitment with the work tactically that we have to do not only in the attacking third but as well when we are defending.”

3. Son Heung-min – 14 (10 goals + 4 assists)

In the absence of Harry Kane, Son has stepped up to the plate for Spurs. The South Korean forward has been thriving under Ange Postecoglou as he has already managed to match his goal tally from the entirety of last season.

There can be little doubt that Son is one of the sharpest shooters in the league and the stats back this up too. The 31-year-old has overperformed his xG by four goals so far which is the most of any Premier League player.

2. Mohamed Salah – 18 (11 goals + 7 assists)

Liverpool’s Egyptian King is inevitable. Even in the matches where Salah seemingly hasn’t been at his best, he still finds a way to produce a match-winning goal or assist.

His latest dazzling of brilliance came against Crystal Palace as he came up clutch with a late goal and assist to win all three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side. A truly remarkable forward.

1. Erling Haaland – 18 (14 goals + 4 assists)

The Manchester City forward edges the top spot thanks to his slightly superior goal contribution per minute ratio when compared to Salah. While Pep Guardiola’s side perhaps haven’t been at their best so far, Haaland still knows a thing or two about finding the back of the net.

As things stand, the 23-year-old is averaging a goal contribution every 71.8 minutes which is absolutely astounding consistency. We wouldn’t be surprised if he walks the Golden Boot race once again this year.
