Surprise name ahead of Christian Pulisic in the 10 highest paid USMNT stars in Europe
Stars from AC Milan, Barcelona and Juventus are among the highest-paid players from the United States who are currently playing in Europe.
The majority of top USMNT players are now playing in Europe’s top leagues and they are earning a handsome sum of money for their services.
Using figures from Capology, we have found the 10 highest-earning United States stars currently playing in Europe.
=10.Matt Turner – £40,000 per week
The United States goalkeeper joined Nottingham Forest in the summer on a four-year deal worth £40,000 per week. While he started the season as first choice, he’s since lost his starting spot.
Following an inconsistent run of performances, he’s recently found himself behind the likes of Odysseas Vlachodimos and now Matz Sels in the pecking order.
=10.Giovanni Reyna – £40,000 per week
A fellow American star who is currently playing at the City Ground. Reyna wasn’t getting much of a kick with Borussia Dortmund so he was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest for the second half of the campaign.
His opportunities in England have been fairly scarce so far, with only 38 minutes of Premier League football under his belt as of yet. Fingers crossed we get to see more from him in the coming months.

=8.Yunus Musah – £42,100 per week
AC Milan swooped in for Musah in the summer and handed him a five-year contract worth £42,100 per week. He’s racked up 29 appearances since joining the Italian giants, with a large bulk of his games coming as a substitute.
=8. Timothy Weah – £42,100 per week
Weah joined Juventus in the summer on a five-year contract, although there are already some doubts over his long-term future at the club.
The 24-year-old hasn’t established himself as a regular starter under Massimiliano Allegri and according to reports in Italy, his stay at Juventus is ‘not a given’ in the summer. Watch this space.
7. Brenden Aaronson – £45,400 per week
Leeds United thought they’d struck gold when they landed a deal for Aaronson last season, but the switch hasn’t worked out for the 23-year-old. He struggled to adapt to the Premier League and has spent this season on loan with Union Berlin.
Aaronson hasn’t exactly been pulling up many trees in the Bundesliga either. The attacking midfielder has only produced one goal contribution and is yet to justify his lofty salary.
6. Sergino Dest – £49,300 per week
Following some tough years with Barcelona and AC Milan, Dest has got his career back on track this season. The 23-year-old is now on loan with PSV and he’s been playing some of the best football of his career.
Traditionally a right-back, Dest has had plenty of success playing on the left-hand side this season. PSV have a €10million option to purchase the full-back at the end of the season and they will surely be tempted to activate that clause.
In 19 Eredivisie games, the United States star has produced six goal contributions. Given he’s not had much success with Barcelona, the club will probably be happy to cash in on him this summer.
5. Antonee Robinson – £50,000 per week
There’s an argument to be made that Robinson is the most underrated full-back in the Premier League. He’s been among Fulham’s most consistent performers for the last three and a half years and some of the big boys are starting to take notice.
In recent weeks, the 26-year-old has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool as a result of his consistent performances.
If Robinson was to secure a move in the summer, he’d no doubt earn a bump in his wages in the process.

4. Weston McKennie – £52,800 per week
Following a spell on loan with Leeds last season, McKennie has since re-established himself as part of the starting XI at Juventus.
His current deal, which is worth £52,800 per week, is set to expire in 2025. Although Juventus seem keen on extending his contract in the near future.
3. Tyler Adams – £60,000 per week
Adams has had a miserable time with injuries over the last 12 months and he’s barely kicked a ball as a result. Following his lucrative move to Bournemouth in the summer, the USMNT captain has only played 20 minutes of football.
The 25-year-old has been building his fitness up with the Bournemouth U23 squad in recent weeks and fingers crossed it won’t be long until he’s back in action.
“Tyler has started training with the group. In the past week he has started training quite normally,” Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo last month.
“Now it is a matter of taking the rhythm of his teammates. It is very possible also maybe, if everything works, he plays some minutes with the second team, because after almost one year he will need some rhythm.”
2. Christian Pulisic – £84,400 per week
Since making the switch to Milan, Pulisic has looked back to his best. The 25-year-old has eight goals and seven assists at the time of writing and has been among the best players for the Rossoneri this year.
Earning just shy of £85,000 per week, he just misses out on the top spot.

1. Folarin Balogun – £94,600 per week
The second most expensive United States player in football history. Since making the lucrative move to Monaco, Balogun is now the highest-paid United States footballer in Europe with a weekly wage of £94,600.
The fee that the French side paid for Balogun could rise to as much as €40million with add-ons included. He’s yet to justify that sort of price tag, but it’s still early days in his Monaco career.
Earning just shy of £100,000 per week, Balogun is the second-highest-paid player at Monaco behind Wissam Ben Yedder.
