The first weekend of November sees Britain celebrate Guy Fawkes night and there were certainly fireworks on football pitches across the country to match the colourful explosions in the sky.

Manchester City returned to the Premier League summit after Liverpool and (controversially) Arsenal dropped points, while Manchester United left it late to beat Fulham and Mohamed Kudus scored a Goal of the Season contender.

Elsewhere, the FA Cup First Round threw up some jaw-dropping scorelines and the Copa Libertadores final was a classic of its genre, full of skill and sh*thousery.
